Elective Orthopaedic and Other Surgery
Working Hours
Typical working hours 8am – 4.30pm
Exact schedule to be tailored to the individual via the allied Health Coordinator.
Weekend Shifts
Expectation to cover 1 “weekend” per fortnight i.e. Sat & Sun 8am – 4.30pm.
Evening shifts
Expectation to cover 1 “evening shift” per fortnight i.e. 1pm – 9.30pm.
Travel
Close to North Sydney, Woollstonecraft and Waverton stations (10 min walk).
Heavily networked by bus system.
All day street parking available in surrounding area.
Orientation Process
1:1 orientation with Allied Health Educator – tailored to individual’s needs.
Exposure to surgery, VMO consulting clinics, extensive new graduate orientation resource package.
Education Programs
Monthly journal club
Monthly inservice
Fortnightly formal meetings with Allied Health Educator
Quality Improvement Project development, implementation and review.
Pre-Requisites e.g. D/L; Interest in clinical areas relevant to facility
Interest in acute orthopaedics and sports injuries
Social Activities
TBC 2023 pending Covid.
