Working Hours
Physiotherapy Department working hours during the week are 0800 hours to 1630 hours. Weekend and public holiday day time working hours are also 0800 hours to 1630 hours.
Weekend Shifts
Weekend shifts are approximately one in four, with rostered days off during the following week.

Accommodation
Yes. Our accommodation complex has 2 and 4 bedroom furnished units (flat share basis) with a tennis court, BBQ's and easy access to a supermarket. As there can be a waiting list, it is important to organise accommodation immediately following allocation.
Travel
The hospital is easy walking distance from Westmead Station.
Orientation Process
Hospital and clinical area orientation provided on first day of secondment.
Education Programs
There is a general departmental inservice held on a monthly basis. There is also a weekly inservice or case presentation held in each clinical area. The opportunity exists for FYGs to attend other relevant hospital clinical training lectures and programmes.

Social Activities
Department Social Club organises regular social activities.
Support Mechanisms
There is a professional support / mentoring program provided to FYGs. There is a designated clinical senior for each rotation. There is also an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to all staff.
Annual Leave Policy
Annual leave for new Auburn secondees at Westmead is not easily accomodated but may be granted in exceptional circumstances. It is therefore preferrable to notify the Auburn District Hospital Unit Head as early as possible of planned leave requirements so rotations and rosters can be planned around this.
