    Selection Criteria

    .

    FYG Clinical Rotations

    1 on secondment from Sydney Children's Hospital Network {SCHN}, Westmead.

    SCHN grad rotation is generalist across multiple in and outpatient clinical areas whilst on secondmemt with SDMH.

    Working Hours

    Monday to Friday 8-4.30pm.

    Allocated day off every four weeks in consultation with team and Unit Head.

    Weekend Shifts

    Weekend work as rostered. Roster is drawn up and available to all at the beginning of the new grad year. You are rostered off for the 2 days prior to the weekend worked (as an early weekend).

    Accommodation

    Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital Staff Quarters MAY be available.  Please contact the Unit Head to check availability well in advance of rotation to the Shoalhaven.

    Travel

    Train line terminates at Bommaderry which is approximately 3 kms north of the hospital.

    Orientation Process

    For SCHN Grad online orientation, departmental and site specific orientation/education will commence on first working day in the Shoalhaven.

    Education Programs

    ISLHD New Graduate Skills and Education Program to be held on  Wednesday 2nd  February 2023 and Thursday 3rd February 2023.  It is recommended to attend this free program (but you will not be paid to attend). Below are some testimonials from previous attendees:

    ISLHD Physiotherapy New Graduate Handbook supplied as part of ISLHD Physiotherapy New Graduate Skills and Education Program.

    Pre-Requisites e.g. D/L; Interest in clinical areas relevant to facility

    Current NSW drivers license (or equivalent).

    Clinical Supervision.

    Annual Leave Policy

    Only 2 weeks of annual leave will be approved during the new graduate year. All leave is granted at the discretion of the Unit Head Physiotherapist, taking into account the needs of the service. No leave can be taken for the first 3 months.
