    Selection Criteria

    • Demonstrated skills in managing patients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve the quality of service as well as a commitment to ongoing professional development.
    • Ability to work in and contribute positively to a team.

    Working Hours

    Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 430pm

    Weekend Shifts

    Weekend shifts will be required throughout the year. Likely weekend frequency would be one weekend every 4-6 weeks

    Blacktown hospital is close to Blacktown Train Station, links with bus routes and is between both the M4 and M2.

     

    Orientation Process

    Both department and hospital wide orientation is provided on commencement.

    Education Programs

    Weekly inservices, peer reviews, journal club. Regular subspecialty education sessions.

    Pre-Requisites e.g. D/L; Interest in clinical areas relevant to facility

    Blacktown and Mt Druitt also have thriving Hand Therapy, Women's Health and Paediatric Physiotherapy services. FYGs interested in these areas of practice would be given opportunity to learn and extend their knowledge in these

    Social Activities

    Close to shops, cinemas and sporting facilities. Vibrant department with regular social events.

    Support Mechanisms

    Clinical Supervision is provided throughout allocation.

    Annual Leave Policy

    Access to Annual Leave is negotiable. New Graduates are encouraged to contact the Head of Department to request accrued AL and ADOs in line with other members of staff. Approval of leave will be based on service demand and leave already approved across the team.
