Mostly 8.30-5 weekdays (may vary at times eg, early starts if leading walking groups etc). No weekend or night duty. No on call.
Accommodation
Will need to arrange private accommodation ASAP after being allocated as the rental market is busy in town. There may possibly be hospital accommodation for the first few weeks- this will need to be confirmed ASAP, and may not be available at all. Talk to us about it as well- we may know of people looking for people to share with .
Orientation Process
Please contact Jodie McAlpine or Jo-Anne Ioane ASAP by phone after allocation to confirm your appointment. There will be one day orientation each at Mudgee and Gulgong Health Services, and a one day mandatory training day for the health service as well.
Education Programs
There are opportunities to participate in videoconference sessions for paediatric allied health, satellite broadcasts on rural health and teleconferences of physio in services from Dubbo Base Hospital. FYG will have internet access. The health district physiotherapy group also conduct training days once or twice yearly.
Social Activities

Sports available include rugby union and league, AFL, touch football, soccer, tennis, triathlon, hockey, netball, golf, softball and cricket as well as bushwalking, camping, fishing and water sports at local lakes and rivers. Local wineries and food trails also abound. Many restaurants and cafes. Only 3 hours drive from Sydney, 1 and a half hours from Dubbo and Bathurst, 2 hours from Orange so there are plenty of weekend trips to do.
