Selection Criteria
• Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and The Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, Neurological and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
• Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
FYG Clinical Rotations
Aged Care Acute (8-9 weeks)
Musculoskeletal / Outpatients (8-9 weeks)
Neurology and Oncology (8-9 weeks)
Orthopaedics and Surgical (8-9 weeks)
Rehabilitation (8-9 weeks)
Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (8-9 weeks)
Working Hours
Generally 08:00-16:30.
Orthopaedics and Surgical rotation may require you to work 09:30-18:00.
Weekend Shifts
New graduate physios will be involved in a rotating weekend roster with time in lieu taken on a weekday shift.
Evening shifts
Nil.
Accommodation
There is no hospital accommodation available.
Travel
Train to Caringbah then 7 minute walk.
Car - there may be street parking available all day.
Orientation Process
Contact Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology HOD on 02 9540 8300 to make arrangements for recruitment and orientation. Hospital orientation is conducted over two days.
Education Programs
Department inservices occur weekly with additional EBP inservices. In addition, some clinical areas conduct regular journal club. All clinical staff particpate in quality improvement activities and regular clinical supervision. For those interested, there is some scope for involvement in research activities.

New hospital (2003). Hospital redevelopment and reconfiguration completed in 2017. Theatre redevelopment completed 2024. Close to Cronulla beaches and Royal National Park. Friendly department with social activities planned throughout the year.

Appraisals / performance revews every rotaton, regular clinical supervision sessions.

New graduate physios can apply to take a portion of annual leave. Preference will be given to permanent staff during high demand times.
