Outdoor activities include beautiful bushwalks in local national parks, cycling path along the coastline, rock climbing, surfing and many others. Other cultural and social activities include local theatre groups, dance studios, visiting the numerous art galleries, concerts/shows/sporting events at the WIN entertainment centre or local theatres. Wollongong also has many budding small bars and coffee shops and is a short drive to local wineries.
Support Mechanisms
ISLHD Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, confidential, and professional counselling service for all staff. ISLHD Physiotherapy senior staff are friendly and supportive.
Annual Leave Policy
Only 2 weeks of annual leave will be approved during the new graduate year. All leave is granted at the discretion of the Unit Heads for individual sites, taking into account the needs of the service. No leave can be taken for the first 3 months or during the critical care rotation. We try to spread the leave taken across all sites.
