FYG Clinical Rotations

General rotations through  Medical, surgical, geriatric rehab, musculskeletal services , Hydrotherapy  , Fracture clinics  Medical assessment unit

Working hours

Work Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 1630. On call for weekends and public holidays. The on call frequency in about one in six weekends.

Weekend shifts

On Call weekend work if the regular weekend staff is unable to turn up for work.  The weekend staff works 6 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. Frequency of being on call is about one in six weekends

On site living quarter is available when not fully booked.

Travel

Canterbury Hospital is situated between Belmore Station and Campsie station.   Bus services to Bankstown Rockdale , City,  burwood. Hurstville. Bondi

Orientation Process

Two days orientation programme.

Education programs

Participate in weekly staff inservice and take part in Sydney Local Health District mandatory inservice/training programme.

Pre-Requisites e.g. D/L; Interest in clinical areas relevant to facility

Nil.

Social Activities

May join receational activities organised by hospitals in the same health district (including RPAH, Concord and Balmain).

Support Mechanisms

Senior staff provide support for further education. Access to Workforce Development Programme within Central Sydney Health District.
