This hospital was newly built late 2015. Inpatient Unit 25beds +Maternity 5beds

FYG Clinical Rotations


 approximately 30min drive apart.


 Parkes is a rural sub-acute hospital. With this position comes a secondment to St. Vincent Hospital's  Intensive Care Unit.

The physiotherapists work across  our inpatient service, ambulatory care and in the community. They work/liaise with Forbes physiotherapists for Hydrotherapy; and general inservice/departmental meetings


Patients you will see include:

Inpatients – sub acute cardiopulmonary, rehab and ortho cases, patients who are frail/geriatric, palliative care and maternity.

Ambulatory Care Setting – musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, fracture clinic, neurological rehab, women’s health, paediatrics, lymphodaema,chronic pain, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, hydrotherapy

Community Setting – Home visits on D/C from hospital, falls prevention, mobility and functional assessments, post-natal education.

FYG 0830-1700hrs               Service currently available 0730-1700 week days only

There are brand new 4/ 2brm units @ $390/wk (depending on availibility) through Family Medical Centre, Forbes Contact: Beverley Gardiner 0268511300.

Single rms $300/ wk ;Queen rms with TV $350/wk; with common living areas on short term basis from Forbes Shire Council. Contact – 6850 2300.

Otherwise usual rental housing in Parkes or Forbes (Forbes is approximately 30minute drive from Parkes)
